On Physicality

I’ve been fiddling with printable versions for a while now, the entire while now, and I made a mistake early on that created a difficulty in this. Moons Among Us is 8.5x5.5, it’s made to be printed 4 pages to a sheet and then that sheet folded in half along the long side, to create something like a zine I guess. When you do it this way, pages come in sets of 4. Moons Among Us has 6 pages, the front and back, and 4 pages of game text. Which means any printed booklet would have two blank pages (3 because the back cover is new to this release but creating it was straight forward).

So, what does one do with two spare pages. For a long time I was resistant to the idea of having lined pages, and wanted to add another system of tables to help when the main system gives something obtuse or vague. Ultimately I decided that this would be too much like reproducing Alone Among The Stars for my feels. So I mocked up the lined version, and then got a job, worked myself to death, now I’m a ghost. Then I remembered the universe exists and made a version with hexagonal lining, because I’m a hexagon ghost.

So now there’s two printable versions, neither is normal, what did you expect. I’ve tried to design the ruling so that you can ignore my intent and do your own thing. I hope you like things.

I intend to put out another couple with reduced ink requirements. That should be pretty straightforward but today isn’t the today for today.
